An occasion-wear mission
In the world of fashion there are a few things that get you excited – a new season collection and launching your own collection!
Well thankfully we had both last month as we welcomed all the new season dresses into our little shop, which included lots of preloved and rental styles, plus our own satin evening dresses. Designed and handmade over the past few months we made sure these sit so easily under our own brand beaded boleros, which launched last year. We wanted a simple “wear with anything dress” that was easy to care for and fitted dual size – both for ease of buying and ease of producing. No wasted fabric and made to order – what's not to love! We are working on strappy and wide strap options for that extra support, and the fabric is washable - perfect!!

Prom season appointments started so much earlier this year as we guess schools are more confident of dates and arranging well in advance, so we are already busy with appointment slots. Pleased to see lots of young ladies interested in pre-loved styles as this is a perfect way to keep those long dresses in the system for longer. We have received some beautiful preloved styles from those who have only worn once for last years prom, and the prices reflect this to give great value for a long dress.
We are also seeing more cruise dress requests for those important Captains dinners! Jersey styles very popular as definitely travel more easily. We are also taking long dresses in from customers who no longer require their dress – as we are keen to sell for you and make everyone happy! All we ask is for modern styles in perfect condition either worn or still with tags.
As you know at Conscious Closet we are so passionate about saving clothing waste and encouraging our community to style their wardrobes to get longer wear out of everything. As Christmas party season approaches, we were asked by the wonderful lifestyle website Muddy Stilettos to advise their readers of some last-minute styling tips for a quick party ready outfit. So up our street – and hope the tips provided some comfort that it is possible to look party ready without a new purchase!
